Opis biljke: komorač je dvogodišnja biljka šuplje i razgranate stabljike visine do 2 metra. Listovi su plavkasto-zeleni, višestruko perasto razdijeljeni a listići igličasti i tanki kao konac. Plodovi su duguljasti, rebrasti i rnalo spljošteni. Plod ima dvije sjemenke.
Vrijeme cvatnje: cvate sitnirn zlatnožutim cvjetićima u šticima od srpnja do rujna.
Stanište: domovina komorača je južna Europa te se i u nas uspješno uzgaja. Zahtijeva duboko izorano zemljište. Nalazi se i u divljem stanju jer ga rasprostranjuju ptice.
Ljekoviti dijelovi biljke: od druge polovice ožujka do kraja travnja za lijek se sabire korijen, cijela biljka u Ijeto, a sjeme kad dozrije.
Ljekovito djelovanje: komorač se koristi u liječenju kašlja, bolova u prsima, grčeva, vjetrova, loše probave, prehlade, a osobito se preporučuje za
liječenje gripe. Koristan je za liječenje bolesti bubrega, želuca i crijeva.
